The National Education Association of the United States (NEA) launches largest teachers’ membership app, NEA Today, with Pugpig

NEA Today is the flagship publication for the National Education Association and we’re proud to say that this important membership communication is published using Pugpig Bolt.

With a membership of over 3 million teachers, educators and support personnel the National Education Association of the United States (NEA) is one of the most impactful professional unions in the world. NEA Today is the flagship publication for the NEA and we’re proud to say that this important membership communication tool is now published digitally on the Pugpig Bolt platform.

The NEA began scoping their project to bring their digital app to Pugpig at the end of June, and just a few short weeks later were live on iOS and Google Play just prior to the start of the school year in September. Their app on Bolt features timelines tailored to their various audience segments of K-12 Educations, Retired Educators, Aspiring Educators as well as trending topics of importance in COVID-19 and Racial Justice. It showcases resources available to teachers including grants and funding, conferences and events and tools and tips as well as the magazine archive.

In planning their digital product development, engagement was key for the NEA as they migrated from an edition-based publishing app to featuring the live news and events in a mobile-optimised format for their audience.
