Canada’s subscription-based business and tech title, The Logic, launches its mobile app on Pugpig Bolt
The Logic is the latest media brand to launch their mobile app on Pugpig Bolt, helping their mission to spark important conversations to make Canada a better place to live and work.

The Logic is the latest media brand to launch their mobile app on Pugpig Bolt and we’re incredibly excited to help them on their mission to spark important conversations to make Canada a better place to live and work.
After starting scoping work in summer last year, we learnt that The Logic had received feedback from subscribers across various channels around launching a mobile app. From here, the Pugpig team worked extensively to build a world class app that aligned with their goal of driving subscriptions.
With this goal in mind, the work centred around some truly innovative features – one of which is the ability for premium subscribers to gift a restricted number of articles to non-subscribers.
By adding a styled gift button to the end of select articles, subscribers can choose to share via different means like WhatsApp or Twitter – a functionality that directly serves their aforementioned mission to ‘spark important conversations’ while also growing their subscriber base. This was implemented seamlessly across both app and website environments.
In-app domain linking
We also built in-app domain linking functionalities to ensure their mobile app delivers impeccable UX and total ease of access for their readership – both key focuses for the build.
The domain linking feature ensures all links from newsletters and other channels open seamlessly in The Logic’s new mobile app. As well as a smooth user experience it’ll keep users in the app for longer and boost engagement.
An entirely automated workflow
Team Pugpig also worked with The Logic’s development agency, Flywheel, to produce a brand new content feed for an entirely automated workflow. Once this was done, we imported all existing content across their content verticals including The Briefing – Canada’s best business newsletter.
The app takes advantage of even more Pugpig integrations including Firebase for push notifications, Google Analytics and Piano for subscriptions.
