The Irish News, the UK and Ireland’s top selling regional daily newspaper, has launched their new mobile app on Pugpig Bolt. The new app is part of a major digital transformation, which has also seen the title undergo a complete website replatform.

This launch marks our first integration with Arc XP’s subscription management platform, bringing seamless social sign-in, subscriptions, and registration features to The Irish News readers.

The app boasts a range of engagement-driving features including standout ‘opinion’ and ‘latest news’ cards for quick access to reader-favourite categories, integrated puzzles, a dedicated podcast section and an enhanced PDF edition for an improved reading experience on mobile.

The app takes advantage of Bolt’s OneTrust integration for privacy management and uses in-app newsletter promotions to drive deeper audience engagement.

Alongside the improvements to their website, the app launch represents a major step forward in The Irish News’ digital strategy, and we’re looking forward to seeing what’s in store next for their apps.
